Five Questions to Answer Before Bed-Frame Removal

Hardware, headboards, adjustable components, access, and what should stay with the room.

A good pickup plan answers the practical questions before anyone starts lifting. Use this guide to check the item, the route, and any local program rules that may apply.

What kind of frame is it?

Metal rails, platform beds, adjustable bases, storage beds, and solid-wood frames do not come apart the same way. Describe the material and moving parts.

Is anything attached?

Mention wall-mounted headboards, lighting, powered components, or built-in storage. These may need separate work or may sit outside a basic removal scope.

Where is the hardware?

Keep visible bolts, brackets, and slats together. If the frame is already disassembled, say how many pieces remain and identify sharp or heavy parts.

Can the pieces clear the route?

Check doorways, landings, elevators, and the final path to the truck. A frame that fits inside a room may still need disassembly to leave it.

Quick check
